Back from California

I am back from the California shows.  Cardigans didn't show until 4:00pm on Monday and so I only drove two hours on Monday night and then the rest of the way on Tuesday.  The corgis were troupers and we made it home for the results show of "Dancing With The Stars", LOL.

I judged Sweepstakes at the Golden Ret Specialty and had a very good time.  The puppies were lovely and I wish there could have been even more ribbons to hand out :-)

I wish that I could report great success for the girls (Trix and Cloud) but as it turned out they were merely supporting cast for the other short legged girls who won.

Trix was 2nd in Open both days but failed to go RWB.  The bitch that she beat on the first day (the 3rd place girl) beat her the second day, so is life.

Cloud is barely lead trained but she managed to make it around the ring and look "cute".  Cloud has one brown eye and one blue eye and the judge on the first day jokingly said that she was giving him the evil eye, LOL.

We get some time off now until the shows in Roseburg the 17th....stay tuned.

Leaving tomorrow!

We are off tomorrow to California.  I found out that Cardigans don't show until 3:45PM on Monday, so it will be a long drive home!  Hopefully the other Cardi people will stick around to hold the major, if they don't then I will be driving home on Sunday.

This photo was taken of Trix (Rocky X Caitlin) just two weeks ago @ her herding lesson, she will be shown in Open bitch and Cloud (Carbon X Caitlin) will be shown in the 6-9 month PB class for the first time.

Wish us luck!

Getting ready for dog shows in Pleasonton, California

I leave next Thursday afternoon for dog shows in California.  I am judging the Golden Retriever Sweepstakes on Saturday, October 22nd.  The following two days I will be showing Trixie and Cloud in the Del Valle shows.

It is a major in Cardigans and Trixie needs both of hers.  Trixie is minored out and so she can only be shown at major shows now.  This will be Cloud's first show at just 6 months of age.

We are excited to see our Golden Retriever friends and judge @ the Specialty show.  We are also excited for the chance at winning a major with Trixie.  The chance for majors doesn't come along too often in the show world of Cardigan Welsh Corgis.

Stay tuned...

The beginning of a blog :-)

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, gosh, I can't believe I've gotten this far, LOL!  I do want to have a place for our Cardigan news and so until we can develop a web site I am going to try to keep a blog!

Next week I want to publish photos of our wonderful cardigan girl "Possum" as she will be looking for a home once I return from dog shows in California.  She is quite the character and I'm thinking that a pumpkin costume might be just the outfit to show off her charm.

Watch for photos and updates on a regular basis!
